Man arrested after being accused of trying to cash fraudulent check

GREECE, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man has been arrested after Greece Police say he tried to cash a fraudulent check, and may have committed similar crimes at various other banks in the area.

Police say it happened on Thursday at around 12:38 p.m. at Tompkins Bank on Long Pond Road. They say they were able to quickly detain the suspect, Cody Thomas.

Thomas was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and attempted grand larceny in the fourth degree. He is being held at the Monroe County Jail…
