ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — According to the U.S. Drought Monitor’s weekly update, most of Monroe County is experiencing a moderate drought.
The map on the US Drought Monitor’s website lists a majority (approximately 90-95%) of Monroe County as D1, indicating a moderate drought.
According to the map, all of Orleans County and the majority of Genesee County are also experiencing a moderate drought. Other surrounding counties to the East and South, such as Wayne, Livingston, and Ontario, are all either majority or all D0, meaning they are abnormally dry.
