RG&E prepares for school district transitions to electric buses

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — As New York school districts prepare to transition to electric school buses over the next decade, utility companies are working to meet the increased demand.

Rochester Gas and Electric is collaborating with local school systems to ensure a smooth transition from diesel to electric fleets.

“Our goal is always to work together with our customers and with school districts,” said Christina Ficicchia, manager of clean energy policy for Avangrid, RG&E’s parent company, “in particular, to help the state meet their energy goal.”…
