ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Amazon has opened a new sortation center in the town of Ogden, expanding the company’s operations in the Rochester region.
The 208,000-square-foot facility on Shepard Road began operating in early September and has created more than 150 full- and part-time jobs, officials said. Packages arriving from Amazon’s fulfillment centers are organized at sortation centers for delivery to customers.
The site is Amazon’s fourth facility in Monroe County. It follows the company’s 2.6 million-square-foot robotics fulfillment center in the town of Gates, which opened in 2023 and employs more than 2,000 people. Amazon also runs delivery stations in Greece and Henrietta.
