Rochester, N.Y. — A man convicted in a homicide on the city’s north side last summer has been sentenced.
Justin Porter, now 33, is set to serve 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter for fatally stabbing Brandon Wyand, 31, at the corner of Joseph Avenue and Seabrook Street the morning of Aug. 20, 2024, according to a spokesperson for the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators determined Porter accidentally dropped a package of drugs on Avenue D, according to the Rochester Police Department. Wyand was walking down the street and found the narcotics, and when Porter realized Wyand found his drugs, he tracked him down and stabbed him…
