BRIGHTON, N.Y. — Brownstein’s Bagels says it’s working to determine “whether we will ever resume normal operations” after a two-alarm fire severely damaged its business in Brighton on Tuesday night.
The two-alarm fire on Monroe Avenue at the Twelve Corners took dozens of firefighters from multiple departments to battle. News10NBC saw crews still putting out hotspots on Wednesday morning. At one point, an excavator had to push away part of the building’s back wall so crews could douse the inside of the building with water.
The fire started around 9 p.m., drawing a crowd of onlookers. After three hours, flames were still visible on the ceiling of the building. Officials say that crews had to wait for the fire to burn through the roof before they could get water on the flames. No one was injured in the fire…
