ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Police officers are investigating after they say a chase ended in a five-car crash near the Liberty Pole Saturday morning.
The chase
They say it started just before 2 a.m., when officers heard reports of someone threatening another person with a gun at the Sunoco on West Main Street. The victim told police the suspect was in a white SUV.
Once officers got to the scene, they saw a white Nissan Rogue pulling out of the parking lot. Officers tried to pull the Nissan over, but say the driver wouldn’t stop — that’s when a chase started.
After chasing through downtown, officers say they lost sight of the Nissan near East Main Street and North Clinton Avenue. They eventually found the Nissan crashed near the Liberty Pole, along with four other cars.
