Police pursuit ends in five-car collision at Liberty Pole

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Early this morning, September 13, a police chase ended with a five-car collision at the intersection of the Liberty Pole in downtown Rochester.

Close to 2 a.m., RPD responded to a report of someone threatening with a handgun at a gas station on West Main Street. This led to a car chase after the suspect fled in an SUV eastwards. For a moment, the Officers lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle.

Shortly after, they found the vehicle near the Liberty Pole and Parcel 5 in downtown Rochester on Main Street, after it had rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a red light. This caused a chain reaction of collisions, RPD says, resulting in a total of five vehicles involved, including a City of Rochester Security vehicle…
