Yellow Alert: Strong thunderstorm threat Monday afternoon

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – As summer comes to an end at 2:19 Monday afternoon the threat for local strong to severe storms will be on the increase into the late afternoon hours. A Yellow Alert is in place for today as a heads up to keep an eye to the sky after 2PM as storms will begin to develop. Heavier weather will mainly impact areas south of Rochester into the Finger Lakes region. Any storms that get going may bring very heavy rain, lightning and also a few strong wind gusts. Storm threat will diminish around 6PM.

Threat Tracker is back to green on Tuesday with scattered showers in the forecast. Mainly cloudy on Wednesday with more rain likely Thursday. Hopefully during this week we can pick up some decent rainfall to help with the ongoing drought conditions. Improving weather with seasonable temps this weekend.
