ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In September, Rochester has seen five assaults on letter carriers, prompting action from the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 210 and local authorities. News10NBC reported on the incidents, which have occurred across the city.
The assaults began on Sept. 5 on Ackerman Street. Two more occurred on Sept. 11, one on Clifford Avenue. and another at the intersection of Depew Street and Forbes Street. The following day, an assault happened on Child Street and Brayer Street, and the latest was on Sept. 22 on Maxwell Avenue and Ellicott Street.
Monique Mate from the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 210 said, “We’ve had assaults in the past, but nothing to the point of where it’s happening on a regular basis.”…
