ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Despite the government shutdown, New York State residents are expected to continue getting federal food assistance benefits at least through October, Foodlink said in a Facebook post.
People can redeem their SNAP benefits as usual. However, if the shutdown goes past October, the fate of SNAP benefits is more uncertain. The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance has a guide with more information.
