ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Organizers of this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s are already past their $310,000 goal set for the year.
“We watched it hit and celebrated and called each other, and it’s just… every dollar counts and to see that we have reached this goal even before the walk is just mind-blowing,” said Rene Ess, one of the organizers of the fundraiser.
Ess will be the purple flower holder in this year’s Promose Garden Ceremony. Purple represents a person who lost someone to the disease. Her mother, Sandi fought Alzheimer’s for seven years. She passed away in March…
