‘We need help’: Rochester family of four struggles with homelessness as rent prices soar

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Homelessness is a growing problem in Rochester. The latest report from the state comptroller shows a 41% increase in homelessness in the city compared to last year. The Green family wants to spread awareness of the problems they’re facing.

“When you have no body it means a lot. And I’m a man I don’t need to shed no tears but we need help how can we get help,” Kenneth Green said through tears.

A man, his fiancé and his 9-year-old twin babies are without a home to call their own. Green says it all started on Aug. 18 when his apartment’s rent increased. He could no longer afford it and there wasn’t anywhere cheaper in his area…
