Rochester blues legend Chris Beard preparing farewell concert before move south

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester’s own “Prince of the Blues” is taking his music on the road once again: this time for good.

Chris Beard, the son of local blues legend Joe Beard, is preparing for his final Rochester performance before relocating to the South to continue his musical journey. Beard will perform one last hometown show at 75 Stutson Street, a venue he calls one of his favorites.

“I did my CD release party there, and the owner, Thomas Bruce, has been a friend of my father’s for years,” Beard said. “He’s really supportive of local musicians, and it’s just a great place to play.”…
