Monroe County to receive $6.5 million in opioid settlement funds to combat local epidemic

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County is getting more money in opioid settlement funds.

The county is set to get $6.5 million, which is the result of two separate settlement agreements with opioid manufacturers found to have contributed to the national opioid epidemic.

The money will go in a trust fund for fighting the local opioid epidemic. So far in Monroe County, opioid settlement money has funded things like a 24-hour hotline, publicly available naloxone, street outreach, and more…
