‘Gift cards secured’: SNAP Relief organizer Jeff Knauss speaks out after questions over fundraiser

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Jeff Knauss, the CEO behind the now viral SNAP Relief fundraiser, is addressing community concerns and sharing new details on how donations are being used.

In a Facebook post this week, Knauss announced that the first 1,000 families who applied during the SNAP benefits shutdown will each receive a $150 Wegmans gift card. Recipients are being notified by email with pickup instructions at designated Wegmans locations across Central and Western New York.

“Even though SNAP benefits have been ordered to be reinstated by Wednesday, we followed through on our original commitment to help local families who applied during the shutdown period,” Knauss wrote…
