County, local business provide food resources during SNAP funding gap

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — With some residents facing delays in federal SNAP benefits and new work requirements, Monroe County officials and local organizations are stepping in to help people access food.

Pizza Wizard, a local pizzeria, has a “pay it forward” program allowing residents experiencing food insecurity to receive a free cheese pizza without paperwork. Customers who are able to contribute can purchase $5 pizza cards to support the effort.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced that information on the SNAP funding delay and new work requirements is available on the Monroe County website.
