Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — A former St. John Fisher University student who was convicted of attacking a school employee last year is back behind bars after violating the terms of his interim probation, according to prosecutors.
Shalom Mathews, now 20, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt and trespassing after he was spotted driving on campus Oct. 24, violating both his campus ban and a stay-away order of protection that was issued for the college staff member who was attacked by Mathews inside their office at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy Feb. 28, 2024, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. He pleaded guilty May 12 to attempted assault in connection to the incident and was sentenced to five years of probation.
