County, city, and Red Wings team up for food donation drive amid SNAP delay

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Local leaders are teaming up to fight hunger amid delays in SNAP benefits.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, Rochester Mayor Malik Evans, Congressman Joe Morelle, Foodlink, and the Rochester Red Wings are hosting a countywide food donation drive on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Innovative Field.

County, local business provide food resources during SNAP funding gap

Donations collected during the drive will go directly to Foodlink, which will distribute the items to food pantries and nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families affected by the SNAP funding delay.

Community members are encouraged to enter the event through the Oak Street entrance to Lot D, located north of Innovative Field. Volunteers from the county and city will assist donors as they drop off items…
