Rochester mayor says gun violence down in 2025

Rochester, N.Y. — Officials provided a public safety update Thursday on gun violence rates in the city.

Mayor Malik Evans said shootings dropped by 57% in the first three quarters of 2025, while shots-fired incident dropped by 52% and total gunfire incidents fell 52%.

The city has also seen a decline from 40 homicides by this time in 2024 to 31 so far in 2025…
