Meigs Street blocked as fire crews respond to 5-alarm apartment fire

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Fire Department responded to Meigs Street in Rochester for a fifth-alarm fire on Sunday evening.

News 8 crews at the scene reported seeing multiple first responder vehicles on scene, and the area was closed by yellow tape.

According to Lieutenant Jackeline Sierra on the scene, fire crews arrived at the apartment building around 5 p.m. following multiple calls of a fire. The fire was declared a fifth alarm when the fire was found to have spread from the third floor to the fourth floor of the building…
