GATES, N.Y. — The Pancreatic Cancer Association of Western New York held its 16th annual walk at Gates Chili High School on Saturday. It brought the community together to fight against pancreatic cancer in a family-friendly way.
Mary Pettinaro and Lynn Platt, co-founders of the Pancreatic Cancer Association of WNY, spoke about what it means to continue having this event.
“When we do these walks, it’s both emotional and rewarding in that we all have an unfortunate bond. So when we get to this day after planning for over six months. It’s amazing to see basically the sea of purple in the unfortunate camaraderie that we formed with many people that have come year after year to support us.”…
