Deputies: Woman switched price tags at Victor Target

Deputies arrested a Rochester woman at the Target in Victor after she allegedly tried to scam the store using price tags from cheaper items.

Elaine Banitskas, 66, was taken into custody on Saturday after loss prevention staff reported suspicious activity. Investigators say she took price tags from lower-priced items and placed them on other merchandise before checking out, scanning the swapped tags to pay less.

The incident resulted in a loss of $86.06 to the store. Banitskas was charged with falsifying business records in the first degree and petit larceny. She’s due back in Victor Town Court at a later date…
