Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced that New York State is investing $24 million to help law enforcement upgrade its technology and equipment across Monroe County’s police departments and sheriffs’ offices. The funding is part of Gov. Hochul and New York State’s commitment to supporting law enforcement and fighting crime.
Monroe County and the City of Rochester have experienced an 18 percent decrease in index crimes and the Rochester Police Department – one of 28 that participate in GIVE – has reported a 57 percent decrease in shooting incidents with injury since Governor Hochul took office.
