ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Waymo autonomous vehicle was spotted in Rochester on Monday, a day before the company brings one of its driverless cars to Hobart and William Smith Colleges for a public demonstration.
Waymo representatives and State Senate Transportation Chair Jeremy Cooney will hold a static showcase Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the HWS quad at 300 Pulteney Street in Geneva.
The visit is part of Waymo’s ongoing push to change New York law, which currently does not allow fully autonomous ride-hailing services. Cooney, an HWS graduate, is sponsoring legislation that would permit the operation of driverless vehicles on state roads…
