Rochester residents seek help after water main break floods basements and damages homes

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — A water main break on Culver Road released two million gallons of water early Tuesday, flooding basements and leaving residents grappling with the aftermath.

Several neighbors on Meredith Street said that insurance doesn’t cover the damages.

An eight-inch residential water main initially installed in 1912 broke at the corner of Culver Road and Meredith Street. The city reported that 36 customers were without water, and approximately 10 had flooded basements…
