ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Families of road traffic victims gathered at Parcel Five in Rochester on Sunday to honor their loved ones during World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. The event, organized by Reconnect Rochester, provided a platform for families to share their stories.
140 pairs of shoes were displayed near the “I Love ROC” sign, symbolizing pedestrians and bicyclists killed in traffic collisions on Monroe County roads over the past decade. Yellow flags represented injuries, and buildings were lit in yellow to mark the occasion.
