New York DMV promises fewer outages, shorter waits under new tech overhaul

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles says a sweeping, multi-year technology overhaul will lead to faster service, fewer outages, and shorter wait times for customers, but some residents will feel short-term disruptions first.

As part of the modernization project, all Monroe County DMV offices will be closed on Fridays for several weeks to allow staff to undergo required training.
