ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Local veterans were given free turkeys on Tuesday as part of the 17th annual Turkeys for Veterans initiative. It was hosted by the Tully Rinckey law firm and Market 32/Price Chopper.
Officials said 300 turkeys were handed out to active duty and retired military members in one hour.

“I think it’s very important to give back to the veteran community, and also, this year, times are tough, especially with the government shutdown,” Tully Rinckey founding partner Greg Rinckey said. “A lot of people’s food budget has been stretched, so we’re happy to do it again this year.”
Turkeys for Veterans began in 2019. Over the last 17 years, the law firm has donated over 55,000 pounds of free turkeys to veterans across New York State. The giveaway takes place in the Capital Region, Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester…
