Four former prison guards sentenced to prison Friday for death of Robert Brooks

UTICA, N.Y. — Four former Marcy Corrections Officers have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in the death of inmate and Greece native Robert Brooks.

News10NBC’s Syracuse affiliate reports Anthony Farina, 49, and Nicholas Anzalone, 44, who were originally charged with murder, were sentenced to 22 years in prison for Brooks’ death. The two accepted plea deals in September to reduce their sentences.

Michael Mashaw, 48, and David Walters, 37, pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Mashaw was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, and Walters was sentenced to two and one-third years to seven years…
