Indictment dismissed against man accused of Sixth St. murder

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) —A Rochester man who was accused of stabbing a woman to death last year has had the charge dismissed.

The Monroe County DA’s Office confirmed to News 8 that the indictment against Tyrone James was dismissed. He was initially charged with second-degree murder after the death of 63-year-old Myrtle Watson.

On September 14, 2024, Rochester police were investigating Sixth Street for reports of a dead person inside a home. Watson was found dead from trauma to her upper body. Investigators said she was stabbed multiple times…
