ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After some rain today and showers Wednesday our Threat Tracker is highlighting Thanksgiving Day and Friday for some weather issues later this week. Primary concern will be a round of stronger winds with some local power outages possible overnight Wednesday into much of Thursday. Along with the wind much colder air will move into Rochester and bring some local lake effect snow to end the week and start the weekend. Exact placement and amounts are still tough to pinpoint but initially a band off Lake Erie will sweep through the region with light accumulations into Thursday morning. During the day that band will settle south of Rochester as our focus will then shift to Lake Ontario.
Thursday night into Friday bands of snow will sweep in from the north with strong winds. Most accumulations should be east of Rochester into Wayne County and central New York. Having said that we need to watch closely for some occasional snow in the metro that will bring light…..
