Crews aid distraught traveler, sick dog along West Henrietta Road

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — As crews spent Thanksgiving Day responding to widespread wind-related power issues across Monroe County, one call along West Henrietta Road turned into something far more personal.

According to officials, Henrietta fire crews working in the area were flagged down by a visibly distraught man who had been traveling through the region with his dog. The man told first responders that his pet had suddenly fallen seriously ill and he didn’t know where to go for help.

Crews immediately contacted CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare, whose responders arrived within minutes. Together, the teams calmed the owner, assessed the dog’s condition, and ensured both received the assistance they needed.
