ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Morning lake effect clouds and flurries will clear for a few sunny breaks this afternoon. Steadier snow in northeast Wayne County will quickly fade away with just minor additional accumulations early Saturday morning. Less wind today with temps in the 30s. Still cold out there, but won’t feel quite as harsh. Major snow in the midwest will stay just to our west out towards Detroit and Chicago. If you have any flights this weekend through those cities keep an eye out for delays. A small part of that storm will move through the Rochester region overnight into early Sunday morning with a light accumulation. Expect an inch or so of snow, maybe a bit more west of Rochester.
Sunday will bring a few snow showers in the morning and then mixed rain and snow showers for the afternoon as temps climb above freezing. No issues for road travel Sunday afternoon. The wind will be back however with gusts 30-40mph during Sunday. Colder weather returns on Monday with fair…..
