Hendrix arson, murder trial sentencing preview

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The sentencing for the three people charged in connection with the death of 5-year-old Malakai Stovall is expected to be held Monday morning in Rochester.

Roy Chambers III and Tiakayla Hendrix already pleaded guilty to second-degree arson. Taquida has been convicted of second-degree murder, first-degree arson, and second-degree assault. The fire took place in Rochester on Portland Avenue on July 29, 2024. Both Hendrix sisters were arrested in early August of 2024 and are being held without bail.
