ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Following the success of November’s FreshConnect Emergency Response program, another event will be held this weekend, funded by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets at the Rochester Public Market.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., SNAP recipient families will receive FreshConnect Emergency Response Checks valued at $20 to spend on healthy food at the Public Market.
The program will run every weekend through the end of the year, with distribution taking place each Saturday until December 27.

Current SNAP beneficiaries can pick up vouchers at the Market’s Token Center, where SNAP benefits are typically redeemed. Community members who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level or experiencing food insecurity can receive checks by signing a state form at the tent in D-Shed…
