ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Foodlink has officially expanded with the completion of renovations to the Mount Read Boulevard space. News 8 toured the updated facility and spoke with leaders about how the organization will continue to serve the community with the new space.
Following years of running refrigerated tractor-trailers in the parking lot to supplement cold storage space, Foodlink now has a new commercial cooler that provides nearly 70 percent more cold storage space, which can store up to 420,000 pounds of perishable food.
“We basically doubled space,” Foodlink’s Director of Community-Based Strategies, Florence Clemmons, said, “We went from a small space where we were sharing warehouse space with the other programs, to having our own.”

Foodlink also made changes to the Curbside Market operations to accommodate growth, including the loading docks to improve safety measures and efficiency. Foodlink’s Curbside Market has been around since 2013 and has grown to sell over $300,000 worth of purchased food annually.
