Rochester City School District seeks parent input before deciding on Northwest Middle School closure

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District held a public hearing Tuesday on the potential closure of Northwest Middle School. Former Interim Superintendent Demario Strickland previously cited “persistently low enrollment” as a reason for the closure.

Few people attended the hearing, News10NBC observed.

District spokesperson Marisol Ramos-Lopez said, “We have two schools that are sharing that facility. Those students that are in seventh grade will continue in that building, then will just transition from being Northwest Middle School students to being Andrew Langston Middle School students.”…
