School board commissioner apologizes for ‘distraction’ caused by alleged racial slur against fellow commissioner

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — At the end of Tuesday’s Rochester City School District meeting, School Board Commissioner Isaiah Santiago apologized for the disruption caused by allegations of him using a racial slur against fellow Commissioner James Patterson at a previous board meeting.

“I want to apologize to Mr. Patterson and the other board members for the distraction caused by this disagreement between us,” Santiago said.
