Rochester receives funds from state’s youth violence prevention project

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester will be given state funding in an effort to support local programs or services that aim to prevent violence, support mental health, and strengthen youth development.

This comes after Governor Hochul announced a $20 million investment on Tuesday for Project RISE (Respond, Invest, Sustain, Empower). The project aims to strengthen violence prevention, expand opportunities, mental health support, and help keep young people out of the justice system.
