Woman pleads guilty to assaulting 75-year-old man outside Rochester supermarket

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — A woman is now awaiting sentencing for attacking a victim in a public parking lot over the summer.

Toni Palermo pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree assault for pushing 75-year-old James Spampinato in front of Ariana Super Market on Culver Road Aug. 17, according to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. Spampinato suffered a broken neck and hip during the incident, which was captured by a surveillance camera.

“It’s disgusting. I suffer a lot of trauma from seeing that video,” said Crista Spampinato, James’ daughter, during an interview with 13WHAM following Palermo’s guilty plea. “I can’t look at it anymore because it’s done a number on my mental health.”…
