‘I hate the winter’: Heavy snowfall and freezing rain cause chaos for holiday road trippers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Friday was filled with plummeting temperatures and heavy snowfall in the Rochester area, which impacted many road trippers heading to their holiday-weekend destinations.

Leah Fagerstrom of Saratoga spoke with News 8 at the Seneca Rest Area along the Thruway near Victor and explained how the roads got progressively worse the closer she got to Rochester.

“It was very dry closer to Albany, but now it’s a mess,” Fagerstrom said. “I’ve seen several cars off the road, and I have to drive super slow because it’s icy and snowy.”…
