ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — With strong winds expected for Monday, we spoke with Michael Baggerman, communications manager for NYSEG and RG&E, about how the utility company is prepared for the upcoming stormy weather.
He said RG&E has a team dedicated to storm roles, and everyone takes that role seriously. Even if they have planned time off, they expect to be called in for storms based on the forecast. “Our storm response is second to none,” Baggerman said.
Baggerman said downed trees cause more than 50 percent of outages across New York State. If you come across any downed power lines, stay at least 30 feet away, as contact could cause injury or death.
