First baby of 2026 arrives as Strong Memorial Hospital celebrates centennial

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The family of the first baby born at Strong Memorial Hospital helped ring in the new year as the hospital marks its 100th anniversary.

Baby Amelia Trigg was born at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday after a remarkably quick labor. Her parents, Holly David and Frankie Trigg of Rochester, said they got to Strong Memorial just in time to ensure Amelia would be born there. All are doing well.

Amelia weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces and joins her older sisters, Gabriella, 9, and Natalie, 1. Gabriella was also born at Strong Memorial, while Natalie was born at home.
