ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A local dance studio celebrated the opening of its new location in Downtown Rochester this weekend.
Elevate Dance Center was co-founded in 2023 by Elyse Jurutka and Darin Price. The woman and minority-owned business is a space for youth and adults to participate in dance lessons, cultural programs, and performance opportunities. On Friday, local leaders joined the co-founders in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize the move to 17 Pitkin Street.
“Our new home celebrates culture, movement, and community in every event we host,” a statement from Jurutka and Price announcing the opening said. “Our work is grounded in more than two decades of combined teaching experience in Latin and African dance, along with years of hands-on event space leadership. Together, we bring deep cultural expertise, strong community connections, and practical event management experience that shape Elevate’s unique blend of dance and celebration.”…
