25 displaced, pets rescued in Henrietta apartment fire

HENRIETTA, N.Y. (WROC) — 25 residents have been displaced after an apartment fire in Henrietta on Sunday.

The Henrietta Fire District responded to the scene shortly after 4:45 p.m. for reports of a fire. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered smoke and flames coming from the basement of the building on Farrell Road.

In a Facebook post detailing the response, fire officials said the fire was reportedly “intensified by a free-flowing gas line,” and the heat from the fire led to a floor collapse at the entrance of the building. Firefighters then had to enter a window on the second floor to address the fire…
