Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — Alessio Sotgiu, 14, of Fairport was skiing at Bristol Mountain with friends Saturday afternoon when he was involved in a collision, according to family friend Courtney Holtz.
“From what a witness has said, he was cut off while he was coming down one of the runs at the end of the run,” Holtz said. “He had to sort of make a quick adjustment and, unfortunately, there was a large metal snowmaker right at the end there, and he collided with the snowmaker.”
Holtz said the collision left Sotgiu with serious injuries, and he was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital…
