SEE IT: New York man rescues baby deer from icy waters

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A young man saved a baby deer after it walked out on frozen Irondequoit Bay. It’s not something that’s advised; in fact, it’s dangerous. But as he told News 8’s Oran Spitzer, if you have an opportunity to help, take it.

Eric Shutter, 24, leaped into action when his mother saw a baby deer in frozen Irondequoit Bay. In the video, you can see Shutter swim a few hundred feet to get to the deer, but it takes a few tries to get the animal out.
