FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — The Fairport community is rallying around the family of a teen who was involved in a skiing accident while at Bristol Mountain.
On Jan. 4, Alessio Sotgiu was skiing with his childhood friend when he was seriously injured. Upon being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, Sotgiu was found to have suffered a traumatic brain injury that required surgery.
Family friends throughout the Fairport community, such as Jeff Wheat, whose son was with Sotgiu at the time of the accident, have since stepped in to uplift the family as they begin the journey of recovery. According to Wheat, the family is taking things day by day…
