Four people were charged following a weekend encounter where two men were held captive in a city residence, threatened and assaulted, according to Rochester police.
The incident – which occurred at a Weyl Street residence and involved two people who were bitten by dogs – ended around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, officers said.
What happened at the Weyl St. house?
Rochester police officers were called to the residence in northeast Rochester after it was reported that a man inside the house was “being held hostage” over an alleged drug debt after the man and his cousin went to the home to buy drugs, said Rochester Police Capt. Greg Bello. The caller also reported that after he was attacked, he was followed to a nearby home “to obtain valuables to pay off the debt.”
As officers arrived at the Weyl Street house, a 22-year-old Pennsylvania man ran from the front porch and was apprehended in a nearby yard, Bello said.
